The Aachen piano duo

The Aachen piano duo Alina und Dimitri Wesselowski has been formed in 2007. Both pianists come from Ukraine and have peformed as soloists and chamber music partners before. In 2008 the duo had its first success: the pianists participated at the 3rd International Valberg Competition "Piano 4 Hands" and shared the third prise with another duo. In 2011 take the duo the 4th prise at zhe 5th international piano duo competition in Bialystok (Polen) and the special prise of Chopin-Institut Warshaw. From then on, the musicians have actively appeared at different stages, giving numerous concerts as an ensemble.

Alina Wesselowski was born in Donetsk (Ukraine). She has graduated from theTchaikovsky National Academy of Music (Ukraine). During her studies, Alina has taken part in numerous competitions, notably 1st prize at the “A. Zatin” International Piano Competition in Uzhgorod (Ukraine), 4th prize at the 5th International Piano Competition in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz in Kiev (Ukraine), 2nd prize at the International Seiler Competition (Rhodos, Greece), 3rd prize at the Viardo International Piano Competition (San Francisco, USA). 2006-2012, Alina Wesselowski was a student of Professor Ilja Scheps at the Cologne University of Music, department in Aachen (Germany).

Dimitri Wesselowski was a student of Professor Anatolij Kardashov at the Odessa State Music Academy (Ukraine), then Dimitri continued his studies in the class of Professor Michael Rische at the Cologne University of Music (Germany), where he has obtained the artist diploma. As a soloist and chamber musician, Dimitri has participated in numerous concerts in Ukraine, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. He is a winner of multiple international piano competitions. Alina and Dimitri Wesselowski took (2009-2011) a postgraduate course on piano duo by the professors Hanz-Peter and Volker Stenzl at the Academy of Music and Theatre of Rostock (Germany).
