Fabrizio Beggi

Began vocal studies in 2009 with Giovanni Mazzei. He trained at the St Cecilia Academy of Music in Portogruaro with Claudio Desderi, and is now honing his skills with Roberto Scaltriti and Carlo Meliciani. He made his debut in the role of Leporello in Mozart's Don Giovanni. In 2011, he joined the opera studio at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, where he made his debut in Donizetti's Il campanello di notte (Don Annibale Pistacchio) and Puccini's Gianni Schicchi (Marco and Maestro Spinelloccio), among other works. He is a laureate of the Toti Dal Monte Prize (2012) for his debut in Cimarosa's Il matrimonio segreto in Trier, Ferrara and Rovigo. He has also performed in such operas as Andrea Chenier, Don CarloSimon Boccanegra, William Tell (Canadian tour), Rigoletto (Teatro Regio in Turin and Teatro dell'Opera in Rome), La Cenerentola (Ferrara and Trier), Tosca, Un ballo in maschera (Teatro Comunale in Bologna), Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Il Turco in Italia (as Selim), Semiramide, Madama Butterfly and Carmen (as Escamillo). As part of his regular work with the Teatro Regio in Turin, he has performed there as Bartolo in Le nozze di Figaro, and also in I puritani, Simon Boccanegra (guest performances in Hong Kong), Manon Lescaut and Alfredo Casella's La donna serpente. With Fabio Biondi's Europa Galante, he has appeared in I Capuleti e i Montecchi (at ‘Chopin and his Europe' and the Reate Festival in Rieti) and Imeneo (at the Handel Festival in Halle, also recording for Glossa).
