Urszula Kryger – studied piano and vocal class at the Academy of Music in Łódź. She continued her studies inKopenhaguewith André Orlowitz.
She has taken part in many international music competitions, winning lots of awards, i.a. the 6th International Brahms Competition in Hamburg and 63rd International ARD Music Competition in Münch.
In 1995 shesang a recital with Chopin's songs in the La Scala Theatre in Milan, and a year after she made a very successful debut at the Semper Operin Drezden.
In her repertoire Kryger hasmany oratorio works performed in cooperation with such conductors as Hans-Martin Schneidt, Sir Colin Davis, Jan Krenz, Kazimierz Kord, Jerzy Semkow, Rafael Frühbeck de Burgos.
She is also well known as a great chamber musician, highly valued for her extraordinary internretation of songs (full of perfection and simplicity). She performeschamber music with such pianists as Hartmut Höll, Charles Spencer, Melvyn Tan, Pascal Rogé, Katarzyna Jankowska.
She has made many recordings for radios in Poland, Germany, Switzerland and France. She recorded songs by Chopin, Loewe, Moniuszko, Szymanowski, Karłowicz and Poulenc.
The album made in February 2001 with Jadwiga Rappé, Jerzy Knetig and Tomasz Herbut has been awarded the prestigious Fryderyk award. In 2004 together with Iwona Sobotka, Piotr Beczała, Julian Gondek and pianist Reinild Mees she has recorded all songs by Karol Szymanowski - this album has been rewerded another Fryderyk Award for the bezt album of the year.
