He won Third Prize in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1985, as well as top prizes in several major international piano competitions, including the Gold Medal in the Artur Rubinstein Competition in Tel Aviv (1989). He has performed on stages in Europe, the Americas and Asia. He has given recitals in the Master Concert Series at the Berlin Philharmonic and performed with such ensembles as the Orchestra of the 18th Century, Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart des SWR, symphony orchestras of Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Brno and Lahti, Warsaw Philharmonic and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, under the baton of such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Andrzej Boreyko, Krzysztof Penderecki, Jerzy Semkow, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Frans Brüggen, Antoni Wit, Witold Rowicki, Jan Krenz and Jacek Kaspszyk. As a chamber musician, he has performed with Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi and Konstanty Andrzej Kulka. He is also pianist of the Warsaw Quintet. He has performed for ballet and opera companies and taken part in multimedia projects, such as the ballet Fortepianissimo, choreographed by Lorca Massine, and a piano version of Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande. He has released many discs in Germany, Japan and Poland. The Fryderyk Chopin Institute has released two of his albums with Chopin's etudes, on modern and period piano. A pupil of Janina Butor, he completed his studies with Andrzej Jasiński at Katowice Academy of Music. In 2006, he received the title of Professor. He regularly gives masterclasses and lectures, and he has been a juror of international piano competitions, including Chopin competitions around the world. He is a Professor of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
