Caroline Sageman – 6th Prize winner, 12th International Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (1990). Caroline Sageman took up the piano at the age of six, studying with Denyse Rivière. At 8, having won a competition organized by Radio France, she performed Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D major at the Salle Pleyel. She then studied at the Paris Conservatoire, where at the age of 13 she was enrolled for Professor Germaine Mounier’s piano class. Subsequently her teachers were Mercedes de Silva Tellez, Nikita Magaloff and Yevgeny Malinin. She also consulted with Miłosz Magin and Eugen Indjic.
Ms. Sageman took 6th Prize at the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1990.
She has performed in France, Italy, Japan and Poland, playing recitals (notably with all-Chopin programmes) and symphony concerts. She performed Mozart’s piano concertos at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris and the Herkulessaal in Munich, and Chopin and Schumann’s piano concertos at the Salle Pleyel and Salle Gaveau in Paris. She has worked with conductors such as Pierre Dervaux and Jean-François Paillard. She has recorded for French radio and television, and for record company Lyrinx.
