The pianist Piotr Różański was born in Cracow in 1989. He is currently a final-year student in the piano class of Ewa Bukojemska at the Cracow Academy of Music.
Różański has won prizes in numerous national and international piano competitions, including the 4th All-Poland EPTA Piano Competition in Cracow (first place and special prize), the 4th International Carl Czerny Piano Competition in Prague (Second Prize), the 38th All-Poland Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (First Prize) and a piano competition for a Yamaha Foundation scholarship (First Prize), as well as receiving an honorary mention in the International Chopin Competition for Young Pianists in Narva, Estonia (2004).
He has given solo recitals in the USA, Darmstadt and Munich, performed with the Cracow Philharmonic, Łódź Philharmonic and Koszalin Philharmonic, and appeared at the Birthplace of Chopin in Żelazowa Wola, in the ‘Chopin and his Europe’ festival in Warsaw (2008, 2013) and in the Chopin Festival in Duszniki Zdrój.
He has taken part in numerous masterclasses, given by Eugene Indjic, Dina Yoffe, Alexey Orlovetsky, Paul Badura-Skoda, Joaquín Soriano, Thomas Ungar and Eleanor Wong, among others.
Różański is also a dedicated chamber musician, playing with Kaja Danczowska, Piotr Reichert, Maria Sławek (duet since 2007), Agata Kucz, Aleksandra Lelek and Sebastian Szumski, among others. He has also been awarded a distinction (with the flautist Agata Kucz) in the International Chamber Music Competition in Łódź, Third Prize (with the cellist Aleksandra Lelek) in the Independent International Competition for Musical Individualities in Kiev, and diplomas for his outstanding performances of piano parts in the 4th International Michał Spisak Music Competition in Dąbrowa Górnicza and the 1st Chamber Competition for voice and piano duet in Cracow.
