Marta Kowalczyk - young Polish violinist born in 1991 in Koszalin, started learning the violin at the age of seven with Prof. Małgorzata Kobierska in the Grażyna Bacewicz State Music School in Koszalin. Presently, she works with Prof. Jan Stanienda in the Zenon Brzewski Secondary Music School in Warsaw.

In 2008, she won the Polish Preliminaries of Eurovision Young Musicians and represented Poland in the International Eurovision Competition in Vienna. She has also won numerous other national and international competitions, receiving, among others, the prize of the National "Paganini Junior" Radio Bis Competition, the 1st prize in the National Tadeusz Wroński Competition for Solo Violin Performers, the 1st prize in the National Groblicz Family Competition in Cracow, the 1st prize in the the International Violin Competition in Bled, Slovenia, and the special award of the European Union of Music Competitions for Youth (EMCY) for the greatest artistic personality.

She has given concerts in many European countries, as well as China, Canada and Russia. She frequently performs with the Koszalin Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also appeared with Sinfonia Varsovia, Cracow Philharmonic, and Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, under such conductors as Jacek Kaspszyk, Ruben Silva, Sławomir Chrzanowski, Jan Stanienda and Łukasz Borowicz.

Marta Kowalczyk was awarded the scholarships of the National Fund for Children, Minister of Culture and the National Heritage, and the Young Poland scholarship programme.

The artist plays a Norbert Kijanka violin of 2004.
