Piotr Pawlak was born in 1998 in Gdańsk. At the age of six, he began attending the Feliks Nowowiejski School of Music in Gdańsk, where he worked till June 2009 with Ewa Włodarczyk. Since September 2009, he has been a pupil of Waldemar Wojtal.

He has won many prizes in national and international piano competitions, including the Grand Prix in the 10th ‘Youngsters Interpret Chopin’ All-Poland Piano Festival in Konin (2013), First Prize in the International Leopold Godowski Piano Competition in Warsaw (2013), First Prize and a special prize in the International Moritz Moszkowski Piano Competition in Kielce (2013), Third Prize in the ‘Chopin for Children’ Piano Competition in Antonin (2013), First Prize and a special prize in the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Szafarnia (2009, 2010, 2012), Second Prize and a special prize in the ‘Chopin+…’ International Piano Competition in Budapest (2012), First Prize in the EPTA’s Rencontres Internationales des Jeunes Pianistes competition in Grez-Doiceau, Belgium (2012) and First Prize and special prizes in the International Chopin Competition for Children in Jelenia Góra (2011). He has also won prizes in composition, mathematics and IT competitions.

He has performed in concert extensively in Poland and abroad, including in Spain, Germany, Lithuania, Georgia, Denmark and Austria. As a soloist, he has played with the Lower Silesia Philharmonic Orchestra under Jan Jazownik, and also the Holy Cross Philharmonic Orchestra under Jerzy Salwarowski. He has also had the opportunity to give recitals for distinguished personages, including the President of the Republic of Poland and the wives of presidents of Eastern European countries.
