Ewa Danilewska

Ewa Danilewska was born in 1991. She began learning piano aged five at the Fryderyk Chopin School of Music in Opole under Celina Hellerowa. She is a graduate of the piano class of Wojciech Świtała and the chamber music class of Grzegorz Biegas at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. For half a year, as part of the Erasmus programme, she studied with Jan Gottlieb Jiracek von Arnim at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien.

She has taken part in masterclass courses given by such artists as Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Fumiko Eguchi, Mirosław Herbowski, Edward Wolanin, Andrzej Jasiński, Zbigniew Raubo, Arie Vardi, Choong Mo Kang and Lee Kum Sing.

She has won prizes in many piano competitions, including Second Prize in the International Franz Schubert Piano Duet Competition in Jeseník, Czech Republic (2011), Sixth Prize and the special prize for the best performance of a work by Claude Debussy in the All-Poland Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2012) and First Prize in the ‘Chopin Piano Roma’ International Competition in the piano duet category (2013).

In 2013, she was a laureate of the ‘Youth Stage’ at the Polish Piano Festival in Słupsk. As a soloist, she has performed to date with the Opole, Rzeszów and Silesian philharmonic orchestras, the Orchestra of Katowice Music Academy and the Polish Radio Orchestra.
