Since winning the Bridget Doolan Prize for the best performance of a work by Mozart at the Dublin International Piano Competition (2012) and the top award at the Johannes Brahms International Competition in Pörtschach (2008, with cellist Georgiy Lomakov), Radosław Kurek has greatly expanded his repertoire, which ranges from the Classical era to contemporary times. His artistic work has led to recordings for such labels as Genuine Classics, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Anagram, the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, Dux, Soliton and BeArTon. As both a soloist and a chamber musician, he has taken part in many prestigious music events in Europe, North America, Asia and Africa. He has performed as a soloist with the Polish Baltic Philharmonic, Wroclaw and Pomeranian philharmonic orchestras, Sinfonietta Cracovia and Capella Bydgostiensis, with conductors such as Jacek Kaspszyk, José Maria Florêncio, Michał Nesterowicz and Jakub Chrenowicz. He graduated with honours from the piano class of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń at the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk (2008), where he remained as his teacher’s assistant in 2008–2009. Since 2009, he has been a teaching assistant at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where in 2014 he was awarded his doctorate in music.
