Ferdynand Hoesick

Ferdynand Hoesick, writer, historian of literature, musicographe and publisher. Since 1884 he studied in Riga and Heidelberg, from 1888 to 1890 he attended the Jagiellonian University. There he became friends with Polish poet Kazimierz Tetmajer and composer Władysław Żeleński. In 1890 Hoesick went to France and continued his studies at Sorbona and Collège de France. He startes his literary career with publications about Polish writers Juliusz Słowacki and Zygmunt Krasiński, as well as about Frederick Chopin. In 1900 he became a director of the bookshop. He published 3 discovered Chopin's compositions: Mazurka (2. version of op. 7 no. 2), Valse in E flat major and A flat major. He also released transcriptions of Chopin's works, Salon concert for piano. In 1910-1911 he published a three-volume monograph of Chopin - Chopin. His life and work.
