Feliks Mendelssohn-Bartholdy - German composer, conductor and pianist. Goethe called him "an unearthly boy".
Mendelssohn met Chopin 20 V 1834 in Aachen. Few days later they played together in Düsseldorf at F. W. Schadow's. In 1835 Mendelssohn and Chopin were making music with R. Schumann, F. Weck and Clara Wieck. Mendelssohn was delighted by Chopin's virtuosity and his compositions. In 1844 he asked him for dedicating a short composition to his wife, Cecilia.
Etudes of Chopin and Mendelssohn were included to Moscheles' and Fétis' Methode des Methodes pour le piano (published by M. Schlesinger).
