Marc Minkowski was born in the family of scientists, musicians and writers. He studied bassoon, but he started conducting at a young age. He studied with Charles Bruck at the Pierre Monteux Memorial School in USA. At the age of 20 he founded the Les Musiciens du Louvre, the ensemble well known for the performances of French Baroque music (Lully, Charpentier, Campra, Marais, Rameau, Mouret, Mondonville) and the works of Monteverdi, Haendel, Purcell, Gluck, Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven. Their interpretations of the Haendel's works brought them a lot of awards.

Since 2004 to 2006 Minkowski had been working in the Paris Opera. He has been invited to conduct the Staatskapelle in Dresden, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, The Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the Paris Orchestra, the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester, TheSWR in Freiburg, the Birmingham Symphonic Orchestra, the Spanish National Orchestra and the Cleveland Orchestra. Currently he is an artistic director of the Sinfonia Varsovia.
