Tymoteusz Bies

Born on 9 June 1995. On completing music school in Katowice, where he was taught piano by Dorota Zawierucha, he began studies with Zbigniew Raubo at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in the same city. He has won prizes in numerous competitions for young pianists (incl. in Stalowa Wola, Cracow, Sochaczew and Głubczyce) and in also the Rybnik Young Instrumentalists Forum, the Polish Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2013) and the 'Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam' International Competition for Young Pianists in Bydgoszcz (2014). Tymoteusz Bies was also a Polish representative in XVII International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. He has taken part in masterclasses given by Andrzej Jasiński, Piotr Paleczny, Boris Petrushansky, Jerzy Sterczyński, Wojciech Świtała, Stefan Wojas, Ramzi Yassa, Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, Kevin Kenner, Dang Thai Son and others. He has performed in concert with the Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra (cond. Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, Jan Wincenty Hawel), the Polish Radio Orchestra (cond. Marek Moś) and the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra (cond. Aleksander Humal). He has given recitals at the 69th Duszniki-Zdrój Festival, the Chopin Museum in Warsaw ('Young Talents'), Żelazowa Wola, St Petersburg,  Petrozavodsk, Paris and Köln. He's been taking part in lots of alternative music projects, including film music composing, electronic music producing and jazz playing.
