Xuehong Chen

Pianist was born in 1999. He numbers among the list of students covered by the Top Talent Training Plan of the Secondary School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, and is currently training with Xinning Zhang and Danwen Wei. Chen has received many prizes, the most important of which are 1st Prize at the 1st Beijing International Fryderyk Chopin Competition For Young Pianists (Senior Division) in 2016, at which he also won a special prize for Best Mazurka Performance, as well as the Rector's Award of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute Award; 1st Prize at the 2nd Astana International Competition for Young Pianists (2014); 1st Prize and special prizes at the 10th International Competition for Young Pianists in Memory of Vladimir Horowitz (Ukraine) in 2013; and 1st Prize in the 8th International Competition of Young Pianists ‘A Step Towards Mastery' in St. Petersburg (Russia) in 2011. The artist has performed at such renowned concert halls as the Goldener Saal of the Wiener Musikverein, Shostakovich Philharmonic Great Hall in St. Petersburg (Russia), Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Stravinsky Hall in Montreux (Switzerland), Astana National Grand Theatre, National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, Zhongshan Concert Hall, and Xinjiang People's Hall. He has worked with many orchestras, including the Moscow Philharmonic, Ukraine Philharmonic, Astana Philharmonic and Ningbo Symphony Orchestra. Xuehong Chen has taken part in the Golden Dream 2012 China Central Television Spring Festival Concerts, Xinjiang New Year Concert, and Symphony Night concerts at the Wiener Musikverein's Goldener Saal, and has given a solo piano concert at the Festival de Musique Classique in Montreux-Vevey (Switzerland). He also performed a solo concert entitled ‘The Night of Poland' during Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło's visit to China in 2017.
