A special place in the calendar of artistic events organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute is held by the ‘Birthday Concerts’ organised around the anniversary of the composer’s birth – 1 March, the date which the composer himself gave as his birthday.

On 1 March 2019, at 7 p.m., the Warsaw Philharmonic will play host to Tomasz Ritter, winner of the First International Chopin Competition on Period Instruments, and the {oh!} Orkiestra Historyczna under the baton of Dirk Vermeulen. The programme will comprise Stanisław Moniuszko’s concert overture Bajka, Karol Lipiński’s Symphony in C major, Op. 2 No. 2 and Fryderyk Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor, Op. 21.

Tomasz Ritter will be playing on a Pleyel piano bought from funds made available the Lotto and Orlen Dar Serca foundations.
