Edition 2016 Edition 2016

The 47th All-Poland Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in association with the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, will be held from 26 November to 4 December 2016 in Katowice.

The Competition, held in Warsaw (since 1968), is one of the oldest national music competitions, adhering to the tradition of the Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competitions for Artistic Scholarships. Over time, the Competition’s formula has changed, with the rules and the repertoire being gradually improved. The Competition promotes young pianists and is addressed to young Polish musicians, students of music academies and pupils of secondary schools of music. This year, for the very first time, the Competition will be held in Katowice.
