The Japanese pianist Akiko Ebi, winner of the Grand Prix in the International Marguerite Long Competition and Fifth Prize in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1980, is regarded as an outstanding interpreter of French music.
In the series The Real Chopin, she was the first to choose for her recordings the oldest Erard piano in the Fryderyk Chopin Institute’s collection of historical instruments, dating from 1838.
This disc features the whole opus 28 set of Preludes as well as Chopin’s four Impromptus.
