Chopin and his Critics: An Anthology (up to World War I) - Irena Poniatowska (ed.) Chopin and his Critics: An Anthology (up to World War I) - Irena Poniatowska (ed.)

This unique anthology of music criticism on Chopin and his work, ranging from the composer’s times up to the First World War, is representative of the reception of Chopin’s personality and the phenomenon of his oeuvre in six European countries: Poland, Russia, France, Great Britain, Germany and Austria.

Targeting a broad readership, encompassing humanists, musicologists, music lovers, critics and journalists, this publication is intended for foreign readers, and so the texts are given in the original languages, French, German and English, with the sections devoted to Russia and Poland in English alone. The project coordinator and editor is Irena Poniatowska.
