Internationale Chopin-Gesellschaft in Wien

Die Internationale Chopin-Gesellschaft in Wien with the seat at Universitat für Musik und darstellende Kunst, a member of the International Federation of Chopin Societies and the International Music Council IMC UNESCO belongs to the most active music societies in Austria. On 5th March 2002 it celebrated its 50th anniversary.

Every year it organizes a series of concerts entitled "Internationale Meisterkonzerte" with the participation of outstanding soloists and chamber orchestras and many winners of The Frederic Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, as well as a lot of other prestigious competitions in the world. Moreover, every year the society organizes Chopin-Festival in der Kartause Gaming with symphonic, chamber, choral and morning concerts.

Die Internationale Chopin-Gesellschaft in Wien publishes a magazine "Wiener Chopin-Blatter" and brochures informing about the society's activities and containing scientific texts on the history of music and performing art written by well-known musicologists and historians.

It belongs to the International Federation of Chopin Societies IFCS. The President is Mr. Theodor Kanitzer.
