International Federation of Chopin Societes

International Federation of Chopin Societes

International Federation of Chopin Societes is a member of the International Music Council UNESCO.

Presently to the Federation belong 45 Chopin Societies from 24 countries: Albania, Argentina (2), Austria (3), Belgium (2), Brazil, Chile, Czech Republic, Finland, France (5), Guatemala, Spain, Israel, Japan, Canada, Korean Republic, Morocco, Germany (4), Poland (3), Russia (2), Switzerland (3), Taiwan, Thailand, Uruguay, USA (6).

Aims of the Federation

  • dissemination and expansion of knowledge about Fryderyk Chopin and in particular about his artistic output
  • popularization of Chopin's works in the countries of the Federation 's members and on the international arena
  • support for international artistic and scholarly endeavors related to Fryderyk Chopin
  • creating advantageous conditions for actively sharing in musical culture

The Federation achieves its aims through

  • organization of concerts, competitions, festivals, exhibitions, lectures, seminars etc.
  • international exchange of artists and scholars
  • promotion of young pianists
  • active participating in the musical events related to Chopin
