Bote & G. Bock

Bote & G. Bock

A Berlin publishing house founded by Gustav Bock and Eduard Bote in 1838, operating under the imprint Bote & Bock. It possessed its own engraving division and printing house. In 1847 the company passed into the hands of Gustav Bock's family whose son Hugo successfully continued his father's publishing activity. During the War World II it was seriously destroyed, yet already in 1945 its activity was resumed in West Berlin, and a new branch in Wiesbaden was established. Successive owners were active in the German publishers associations, they also cared about the company's development and its high reputation.
