Justyna Galant-Wojciechowska

The pianist Justyna Galant studied with Janusz Grzelązka and Kazimierz Gierżod at Łódź Academy of Music, graduating with distinction. In 1993, she won a prize in the International Milosz Magin Piano Competition in Paris and also took part in the Concert of the Year in Warsaw dedicated to Witold Lutosławski. She is a former grant-holder of the Polish Ministry of Culture and the Arts and the French Government. In 1995 she completed a piano course under Victoria Melki at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, then from 1996 to 1998 she studied piano with Thomas Herbut and chamber music with Erika Radermacher at the Konservatorium für Musik und Theater in Bern. She has taken part in many piano masterclasses, under Tatiana Shebanova, Halina Czerny-Stefańska and Rudolf Buchbinder in Zurich.

She performs both solo and in ensemble, including in a piano duet with her husband Filip Wojciechowski. In 2001, the duet made a CD recording of a concert in Berlin for the Sächsische Tonträger label, featuring works by J.C. Bach, Beethoven and Chopin, as well as Milosz Magin’s Divertimento, dedicated to the two artists.

In 2002, she formed the Drei Engel piano trio, which also made a CD recording of a concert in Berlin (2002).

Justyna Galant has performed solo, in duet and in ensemble at home and abroad, including in France, Germany, Switzerland and Finland
