Born in 1982 in Castellammare di Stabia, Naples,  from a musician's family, Mariangela Vacatello began her musical studies at the age of four with Yamaha Music Course and immediately after with Aldo Tramma in her native city. At eleventh she moved to the "Incontri con il Maestro" International Piano Academy in Imola, where she studied thirteen years with Franco Scala and following with Piero Rattalino and attained her final "Master" Diploma  in 2006. At Milan Conservatory of Music she achieved her Piano Degree in 1999 and Master Degree in 2006 under the guidance of Riccardo Risaliti and Paolo Bordoni: on both occasions she was awarded top marks "cum Laude" and honourable mention. She also studied Composition for a while with Bruno Zanolini and Fabio Vacchi and post-graduate piano with Dominique Merlet in Paris. Mariangela was able to further nurture her musical gifts drawing on the artistic experience of other great artists in a number of masterclasses held in Italy, Austria and France by Lonquich, Lortie, Jasinskj, Howard, Dalberto, Lucchesini,  Weissenberg, Margulis, Dorensky, Virsaladze, Isserlis, Rados  in una serie di masterclasses tenute a Villecroze (France), Salisburgo, Crans-Montana, Sermoneta, Santander e Prussia Cove.

In 2008 Mariangela finished her post graduate course with Christopher Elton, Head of Keyboard at the Royal Academy of Music in London and has achieved the DipRam in Piano Performance, the special "Council of Honour Award" ("a highly original contribution to the development and evolution of music") and the Hodgson Fellowship for the 2008/2009 year.  She is recipient of the Sterndale Bennett Scholarship and has been awarded from MBF (Dame Myra Hess Award), The Tillet Trust, Hattori Foundation, The Solti Foundation and the Acadèmie musicale de Villecroze.

Since the very beginning of her career Mariangela has won an impressive series of prizes at several national Italian competitions (XVII Venice Prize for the best Italian Graduate of the year, the "Giuseppe Verdi prize: music for life",  in recognition of her precocious talent and extraordinary technical accomplishments, the Olivelli Price from the Lyons Club and  "Nino Carloni Award" in L'Aquila), and her first important international achievement dates 1999 when at age of seventeen  she won the 2nd Prize at the "F. Liszt"  International Piano Competition in Utrecht, Holland.

Winner of "Top of the World" in Norway and Finalist and worldwide Public  Award at the prestigious "Van Cliburn" Usa 2009, Mariangela Vacatello achieved the "Laureate Prize at the "Queen Elisabeth" Competition 2007 in Bruxelles, the 2nd Prize at "F.Busoni" in Bolzano 2005, the 3rd Prize "I.Yun in memoriam-Tongyeon" Korea 2008, the 2nd, the critics' and audience Prize at International Piano and Orchestra Competition in "Città di Cantù" 2003, 1st Prize at International Piano Competition "Premio Concerti in Villa" 2004 in Vicenza, finalist at the "Paloma O'Shea" Piano Competition in Santander and in 2002 she was selected to represent Italy in the Musical Interpretation Prize 2002 of Lions Club International in Bruxelles.

She works with the Italian cellist Giovanni Gnocchi with whom she has got the Pubblic Prize at the Parkhouse Award 2007and 2009 playing at Wigmore Hall in London.

She began to have concert at age 5 and made her official debut in Milan at age of fourteen  performing Liszt's 1st Piano Concerto with the Pomeriggi Musicali Orchestra.  Since then she has appeared in the most prestigious Italian venues and festivals like "A. B. Michelangeli Festival" in Bergamo and Brescia, Società dei Concerti in Milan, Teatro Dal Verme, MiTo Settembre Musica, "Maggio Musicale Fiorentino" in Florence, Unione musicale in Turin, Festival delle Nazioni" in Città di Castello, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, MittelFest in Cividale del Friuli, Teatro Bibiena in Mantova, Sala Greppi in Bergamo, Amici della Musica in  Verona, Padova, Mestre, Messina,  Accademia Filarmonica in Bologna, Sala Scarlatti and Teatro Diana in Naples, Parco della Musica and Accademia Filarmonica Romana in Rome...   both as  soloist and for chamber music with the cellists Rocco Filippini and Gary Hoffman, the violist Toby Hoffman, the violinists Timothy Fain and Ilya Grubert, the Ysaye and Takacs Quartets, the Principal Trumpet of "Teatro alla Scala" Francesco Tamiati, the trumpet Yamaha Artist Nello Salza... 

Mariangela loves working with Orchestras and some of them has been the Lithuanian Symphony, Stuttgarter Philharmonics, Nordwestdeutsche Orchestra, Johannesburg Philarmonic, "Haydn" in Trento and Bolzano, the Orchestra of Padova and Veneto,  Zagreb Philarmonia, Pannon Philharmonic, Moldavian Radio Television, Filarmonica Marchigiana, Imperial Symphony, Rosewell Symphony, under the baton of conductor of the rank of  Krystof Penderecky, Gustav Kuhn, Andris Nelsons, Gerard Korsten, Daniel Kawka, Martin Haselboeck, Michael Tabachnik, Bernard Gueller, David Itkin, Zsolt Hamar, Christopher Franklin, Anton Nanut, Donato Renzetti.

She is in great demand in the international concert arena. Mariangela has been invited to the Montpellier Festival, several times to Salle Cortot, to the Salon D'Honour du Musee de l'Armèe-Hotel des Invalides for Yamaha Music France and at the "Bagattelles" for Societè Chopin in Paris. Other venues which feature her performances are the Berlin Konzerthause, the Mozarteum Auditorium in Salzburg,in the Big Hall of the  Conservatoire  and Theatre de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, the Lisinsky Hall in Zagreb, in the Wigmore Hall in London,at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, Bargemusic and Carnegie Weill Hall in New York, for the Chichester Festivities  and  Buxton Festival in Uk, at Disney Hall in Los Angeles with "IPalpiti" Festival, at the Z.K.M. Great Hall in Pretoria and  Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg, Palacio de Festivales in Santander as well as concerts in Messico and tourneè in South Africa.

Besides, Mariangela's performances are regularly broadcasted by prestigious radio stations such as Radio France Musique, Musiq3 Belgique, Radio Svizzera Italiana, Radio 3 Italia, Radio Pretoria, ABC Australia and few American's.
