Agata Mierzejewska

Agata Mierzejewska - musicologist, graduate of Warsaw University (2005). Her research interests centre on the history and sociology of music and instrumentology. She takes an active part in projects promoting Polish musical culture. Her passion is the art of exhibition. She has had articles printed in such publications as Kwartalnik Muzyka, Kwartalnik Filmowy and Ad Parnassum Studies.

■ Co-author of the documentary film The Breath of the Orchestra (NIFC, 2013), devoted to Frans Brüggen's Orchestra of the 18th Century.

■ Author of a series of interviews with artists performing in the festival ‘Chopin and his Europe' (Festival studio 2012, 2013), and with representatives of Polish musicology (Wstęp do muzykologii 2012).

■ Compère of the Summer Concerts on Grochowska, Sinfonia Varsovia (from 2012).

■ Co-leader of the educational cycle Read-throughs at the Chopin Museum (2014).

■ Image Specialist of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute (2012-2014).

■ Head of the Folk Musical Instruments Department at the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments in Szydłowiec (2012).

■ Author of the scenarios for multimedia stations in the new permanent display at the Chopin Museum: George Sand, Maria Wodzińska, Konstancja Gładkowska, Marie de Rozières, Solange Sand, November Uprising (2009-2010).

■ Doctoral student of the University of Wrocław, where she has led seminars on the Culture Studies and Musicology departments in the following areas: The history of the Polish musical tradition of the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Baroque, The history of music of the Classical and Romantic eras, The history of musical forms and genres and Musical knowledge (2006-2008).
