William  Knight

Began his musical career as a chorister at St Paul's Cathedral in London. During his studies at the University of York, he sang as a tenor in the local cathedral choir. He is a permanent member of the Nederlands Kamerkoor and co-founder of the Windsor Consort. He has worked with such ensembles as Collegium Vocale Gent, Capella Amsterdam, Netherlands Radio Choir, Egidius Quartet, The Sixteen, Gabrieli Consort, BBC Singers, Chapelle du Roi, Brabant Ensemble and Capilla Cayrasco. He has performed at such venues as De Nationale Opera in Amsterdam, in Faust, and also as a member of the chorus at Glyndebourne (Hippolyte et Aricie), Opera Holland Park (Le nozze di Figaro and La rondine) and Grange Park Opera (Madame Butterfly and Idomeneo). He has performed solo parts in works by Bach (above all as the Evangelist in the passions). He recently appeared as a chorus soloist in Carmina Burana at the Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven and in Israel in Egypt at the Muziekgebouw aan't IJ in Amsterdam, and also in concert performances of Handel's Salomon at York Cathedral, Gounod's Messe solennelle de Sainte-C├ęcile, Haydn's The Seasons, Monteverdi's Vespers, Handel's Messiah, Purcell's King Arthur and Rossini's Stabat Mater and Petite messe solennelle. He has also sung the part of Saul in Purcell's Saul and the Witch of Endor and the titular role in Britten's Saint Nicolas.
