Yulianna Avdeeva

Winner of the 16th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in 2010 and also a laureate of the Concours de Genève and the Arthur Rubinstein Competition in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She regularly performs in Asia: in 2015, she toured Japan with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, and she has given solo recitals in Korea, Taiwan and China. She has also played in both Americas, where she debuted with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and also performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo. As a chamber musician, she has worked with the Kremerata Baltica and musicians of the Berliner Philharmoniker. She has toured Germany with Julia Fischer and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, performing in Cologne, Essen, Berlin and Hamburg. As a soloist, she has played in the International Piano Series in London, at the Rheingau Musik Festival, Schwetzinger Festspiele, La Roque d’Anthéron and Wiener Festwochen, and also at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Liederhalle in Stuttgart and Essen Philharmonic. This year, she will be touring Europe with Julia Fischer. She is particularly esteemed for her interpretations of the music of Chopin. A double album of recordings of her performances during the Chopin Competition in 2010 launched the Fryderyk Chopin Institute’s ‘Blue Series’. In 2013, she recorded Chopin’s piano concertos for the Institute on an 1849 Erard with the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century and Frans Brüggen. Two solo discs have been released on Mirare: works by Chopin, Schubert and Prokofiev (2014) and by Mozart, Liszt and Chopin (2016). She is regularly invited to perform in ‘Chopin and his Europe’, where she first appeared in 2008.
