Polish poet, prose-writer, essayist and diplomat. He studied the law and the polish philology on the Warsaw University, and he also finished the High School of Music in Warsaw. In 1922 he began working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - he worked on the diplomatic posts in China, Brazil and Iran. Between 1939 and 1940 he was working in the Ministry of Information and Documentation of the Polish government-in-exile and later, between 1940 and 1945 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in London.

From 1920 he was a member of the poetic group Skamander (Polish group of experimental poets founded in 1918 by Julian Tuwim, Antoni Słonimski, Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz, Kazimierz Wierzyński and Jan Lechoń).

He made his literary debut with the volume of novels "Miasto Księżyców" [The City od Moons] (1924).
