Luigi Carroccia

The pianist began his musical training at a very young age under the guidance of his father and grandfather. He continued his studies with Prof. Giorgia Alessandra Brustia at the Conservatory of Bolzano, graduating with honors in 2013 and obtaining his Master's degree with distinction in 2016. During these years, the artist was invited to record a recital dedicated to Chopin for the Radio Classica program The Pianist. He has won prizes at many piano competitions, such as the Maria Herrero International Piano Competition in Granada and the Concorso Musicale Europeo Città di Filadelfia. In 2015, Carroccia won 2nd Prize at the Premio Abbado organized by the Italian Ministry of Culture in memory of Claudio Abbado. He also distinguished himself at the Busoni International Piano Competition and at the Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. The pianist has given many recitals in Italy, Germany (Euro Music Festival Halle, Mendelssohn-Haus Leipzig), Turkey (Istanbul), Poland (Warsaw, Gliwice, Pszczyna), the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as Bulgaria, where he was awarded a medal for his performance of works by Alexander Scriabin. Luigi Carroccia recently performed Chopin's Piano Concerto no. 2 in F minor op. 21 and Beethoven's Piano Concerto no. 4 in G major op. 58 in Fondi and in Bolzano.
